Steel Current is a dark science-fiction psychological thriller comic series that does not exist. An alien planet populated by sapient bug-like creatures—free of war and disease—is suddenly shaken by the discovery of a permanent contaminant. Our protagonist, Warm Smiles, displaced from her home, is forced to work as a "substance analyst" in the quarantined district known as the Quiet City. There, she meets her co-worker, the exiled cenobite named Longevity, who soon develops a strange fascination with her.
SC has been a passion project of mine since the summer of 2024 and as of this winter, I can say with more confidence that, yes, it will someday exist. Chapter one is in the works, so I am hesitant to share anything, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
